Indian Dental Association, Thiruvalla branch observed Oral Health Day with students of Vikas School, Kaviyoor owned and managed by YMCA charitable trust.
As part of our CDH, We planned to conduct 1 year long, Oral Health Care Project in Vikas School as three phases.
Phase 1: Oral health evaluation of mentally challenged students, educating the teachers, parents and students regarding the importance of oral health and demonstrating oral hygiene methods along with distribution of toothpaste, toothbrush and mouthwash.
Phase 2: To direct and facilitate dental treatment and full mouth rehabilitation in nearby dental clinics and hospitals.
Phase 3: Follow up and prophylactic treatments like fluoride application, etc.
We started our celebration with an Oral Health assessment followed by a public meeting presided by our Branch President Dr. Reji Thomas, Dr Subbalekshmi gave an idea on our project to the gathering, Inaugural address by H.G Yohanon Mar Chrysostomos, Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of Indian Orthodox Church, YMCA President Mr. Ipe Abraham welcomed the gathering, YMCA Charitable Trust Secretary Mr. Sajan Varghese and Mrs. Latha headmistress of the Vikas School gave facilitations, cultural program by students following by delicious snack to all the guests and students. We distributed dental aids and handed over the gift money of Rs.15,000/- to YMCA Charitable Trust Treasurer Mr. Elias C A by our Senior Member and Past Kerala State President Dr Samuel K Ninan.

IDA Thiruvalla Branch observed World Cancer Day on February 4th and inauguration of CDH Activities for the year 2022.
The program was inaugurated and presided over by Dr. Reji Thomas, President IDA, Thiruvalla Branch. CDH Activities for the year 2022 of IDA Thiruvalla Branch was inaugurated by Dr. Milli James, State CDH Chairperson.
The CDH wing and WDC of IDA Thiruvalla Branch jointly organized a webinar on the Topic "IS CANCER A LIFE STYLE DISEASE?" The talk was delivered by Dr. Sairu Philip, HOD, Department of Community Medicine & Vice Principal, Government Medical College, Vadanam, Alappuzha. The programme was attended by IDA Thiruvalla Branch members, members of other IDA Branches and public. Dr. Annie Beena Thomas, President of WDC, IDA Thiruvalla Branch spoke on the occasion. Dr.Zubin Cherian, CDH Convenor, proposed the vote of thanks.
IDA Thiruvalla CDH & WDC jointly organised a Blood Donation Camp on account of World Haemophilia Day on Saturday, 17th April 2021, at Pushpagiri Medical College Hospital.
The organising committee applauds the social commitment displayed by the members who participated despite the worsening covid crisis.
Our branch conducted World Oral Health Day program on March 20th, 2021, at Gilgal Ashwasa Bhavan, Eraviperoor, a destitute home. Oral health awareness class was taken by our member Dr Sherine Lanu, which was attended by around 300 inmates.
The event was followed by musical night by WDC members who blessed the evening with their melodious songs.
Around 30 of our members participated in the program.
Christmas is a season of giving and sharing.
IDA Thiruvalla along with WDC were able to share our token of love by gifting homemade Christmas cakes to 25 differently abled children in and around Ranni.
IDA Thiruvalla in association with the Women's Dental Council and Council of Dental Health celebrated Women's Day by organising a family get-together at Asha Bhavan, a home for female destitutes and mentally challenged children. The meeting started with lunch with the inmates and was attended by around 80 people (including around 40 inmates).
The mother superior, Sr. Sophia inaugurated the WDC activities for the year and saplings were handed over as part of the "Go-Green" campaign. Cultural programs by our members and their families and also by the inmates enthralled the audience. An Oral health awareness talk was given by Dr.Sherine followed by an Oral Screening Camp and distribution of Dental hygiene kits.

On the occasion of World Cancer Day on February 4th, IDA Thiruvalla hosted a Cancer Awareness Class for the general public in and around Thiruvalla at YMCA Auditorium, Thiruvalla. Dr. Philip Mathew (Asst. Prof.of Department of Community Medicine, PMCH) and Dr Saji Kurian (IDA Tvla HOPE Representative) educated the masses about Cancer. Thiruvalla Municipal Chairman, Sri Cherian Polachirackal, inaugurated the meeting and Dr Jinu Mathew Vaidhyan, IDA Kerala State Vice-president, officially inaugurated the CDH activities for the year 2020. This was followed by a free oral screening and distribution of oral hygiene kits.
The first School Dental Health Program of 2020 was held at Government Upper Primary School, Pullad.
WDC President, Dr Vineetha delivered the Dental Health Awareness talk followed by distribution of dental kits. A total of 80 students and 15 teachers participated in the program.
