Continuing Dental Education
The eleventh live webinar by IDA Thiruvallla was held on Saturday, 19th December, 2020. Dr Mathew P. Sunny, MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics spoke on the topic " Predictable Composites in Day to Day Practice". The webinar was attended by around 38 participants.
The tenth live Webinar was hosted by IDA Thiruvalla branch on 13th December, 2020, on the topic "Tips & Tricks in Endodontics". The faculty was Dr. Frency Joseph, MDS, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. The event had around 40 participants through Zoom platform.
IDA Thiruvalla conducted the ninth live webinar via Zoom on the topic " Periodontics in Everyday Practice" on Sunday, 29th November, 2020. The faculty of the day was Dr. Ajish Paul K., MDS, Periodontics, who is a practising Implantologist, Laser dentist, and a Biomimetic Dentist, currently working as a consultant at Believers Church Medical College and Hospital. The webinar was attended by around 70 participants.
IDA Thiruvalla proudly co-hosted an Inter-Branch Live Webinar with IDA Central Kerala Kottayam on the topic "Everyday Oral Surgery" on Sunday, 13th September 2020. The faculty of the day was our Immediate Past President, Dr Akhilesh Prathap, MDS , Fellow IBOMS, presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences. Around 130 participants attended the webinar through Zoom and YouTube live.
The 7th Webinar by IDA Thiruvalla was on the topic "Post COVID Management in Dental Practice" by eminent speaker, Dr George Skaria, BSc, MDS, LLB . Around 75 participants took part in the live event through Zoom and YouTube live.
IDA Thiruvalla hosted the 6th Webinar on the topic " Extractions Simplified" through Zoom and YouTube live on Friday. The faculty of the evening was
Dr. Mathew Sam, MDS, MBA (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon,Armed Forces Hospital, Southern Region,Saudi Arabia) . The Webinar was attended by around 110 participants.
IDA Thiruvalla conducted the fifth Webinar on the topic "Porcelain Veneers". The faculty of the event was Dr. Sangeetha J Nair, MDS in Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge, working as the Dental Officer at ECHS Polyclinic Changanacherry, Ministry of Defence, Govt. Of India.
The program was attended by around 45 participants through Zoom and YouTube live.
A much-awaited Webinar on the topic "Consent and Documentation in Medical Practice" was conducted by Dr Veena Roshan Jose, LLM, PhD, explained excellently the finer legal aspects with regard to medical record documentation and patient consent.
Around 75 members took part in the Webinar via Zoom and live YouTube streaming.
The third Webinar was conducted on the topic " The Kidney in Health and Disease" by Dr. Sanjeev Nair,
Associate Professor, Department of Nephrology, Saveetha Medical College, Chennai.
The program saw a total participation of around 50 members on Zoom and YouTube live.
IDA Thiruvalla CDE wing hosted the second Webinar on the topic-"Towards Aerosol-free Pediatric Dentistry" by Dr. Subbalekshmi, Reader, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Pushpagiri College of Dental Sciences, Thiruvalla. The class saw a registration of around 120 participants besides live YouTube streaming.
As part of the Continuing Dental Education, IDA Thiruvalla hosted the first Webinar on the topic-"What a Dental Surgeon should know-Post Covid" by
Dr. Varghese Zachariah, HOD Department of Respiratory Medicine. Around 100 participants attended the webinar.
